Zodiac Signs, July 2026: the month when nothing will be the same again for anyone

By Christos Archos, astrologer with 23 years of active practice and 31 years of study, founder of the Institute of Astrology. A complete guide to the month, aspect by aspect and pentad by pentad.

July 2026 is a threshold month, and its keyword is a single one: reversal. Behind a surface of tension and small frictions, one of the most harmonious grids of slow planets of the decade is quietly being set up, while a new twelve-year phase of Jupiter in Leo opens and the axis of the Nodes shifts to prepare the August eclipses. It is a period at once creative and pressured, one that for many will change the flow of things. Below you will find a complete analysis, with text for every aspect of the month, a detailed day-by-day calendar, and a forecast for each one of the 72 pentads of the twelve signs.

At a glance

  • Keyword of the month: reversal, as a warm-up for the August eclipses.
  • Jupiter enters Leo: a new twelve-year cycle, peaking with the Sun–Jupiter conjunction on 29 July.
  • Chiron in Taurus activates the first decan of the fixed signs, with the theme of healing.
  • Mercury is retrograde in Cancer until 24 July.
  • New Moon on 14 July, at 22 degrees of Cancer. Full Moon on 29 July, at 6 degrees of Aquarius.
  • The axis of the Nodes shifts onto the Leo–Aquarius axis, on 27 July.
  • Most charged days: 27 and 29 July.

The setting of July 2026

If the month had to be described with a single image, it would be this: slow planets forming a calm, flowing trine in the first degrees of the signs, and over it the faster luminaries, the Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mars, passing in succession and lighting it up. Uranus at 4 degrees of Gemini forms a sextile to Neptune and a trine to Pluto, a silent foundation that stabilizes whatever happens. The action does not lie in a single spectacular aspect, but in the accumulation of many points of activation around critical zodiacal boundaries.

Five bodies are in retrograde motion, Mercury, Pluto, Neptune, Saturn, and the Node, giving the month a reflective, revisionary character, favorable for re-examination and planning rather than for hasty moves.

Five major currents

1. The slow harmonious trine of the outer planets

At the core of the month a generational, slow configuration forms. Uranus at 4 degrees of Gemini makes a sextile to Neptune at 4 degrees of Aries on 15 July, a trine to Pluto at 4 degrees of Aquarius on 18 July, and finally Neptune and Pluto link by sextile on 25 July. Two sextiles and a trine compose a flowing arrangement that works as a stable backdrop for the whole month.

2. Jupiter in Leo, the new twelve-year cycle

Jupiter has entered Leo, for the first time since 2014–2015. It works as the first switch of the grid: on 20 and 21 July it forms a trine to Neptune, an opposition to Pluto, and a sextile to Uranus. Its contact with the slow planets gives meaning and prospect to what would otherwise remain an abstract background.

3. The shift of the Nodes onto the Leo–Aquarius axis

The North Node passes from Pisces into Aquarius, entering on 27 July, while the South Node moves from Virgo into Leo. This shift is the prologue to the August eclipses, which will take place exactly on this axis.

4. Mercury retrograde in Cancer

Mercury travels retrograde in Cancer until 24 July, when it turns stationary toward direct motion. On 13 July the Sun meets it in conjunction, a restart point for the mental cycle. It is a period of inner review around home, memory, and roots.

5. Saturn and Neptune in Aries

Saturn and Neptune both turn retrograde in Aries, on 26 and on 7 July respectively, turning inward two great functions, that of structure and that of the dissolution of boundaries.

The healing of the first decan, Jupiter and Chiron

The month opens with a square of Jupiter and Chiron, on 2 July. With Chiron in the first degrees of Taurus and Jupiter in the first degrees of Leo, the first decan of the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, lies at the center. The message is twofold: you can finally heal from something old and take a new, meaningful step.

The New Moon and the Full Moon of the month

The New Moon of 14 July, at 22 degrees of Cancer, sows a new lunar cycle in the sphere of home, family, and roots, immediately after the Sun–Mercury conjunction. The Full Moon of 29 July, at 6 degrees of Aquarius, falls almost exactly on the opposition to the Sun–Jupiter conjunction: the Moon opposes the conjunct Sun and Jupiter, bringing a culmination on the axis of the individual and the collective. Neither of the two is an eclipse, but they precede the eclipse season of August.

Aspect by aspect, the whole month

What follows is a text for every aspect and every significant event of the month, in chronological order. This way you can follow the flow of energy day by day.

2 July — Jupiter square Chiron. The month opens with tension between optimism and an old wound. Whatever limits you surfaces to be recognized. Don’t overcompensate to cover your vulnerability. Look it in the eye and heal.

3 July — Jupiter quincunx Node. A small but meaningful adjustment between personal growth and your collective direction. Something in your ambitions does not align with your destiny. Flexibility and repositioning, without abandoning the vision.

4 July — Mars conjunct Uranus. The most explosive aspect of the month’s opening. Sudden energy, abrupt decisions, a need for freedom. Take care with accidents and hasty moves. Channel the tension creatively, or it will erupt uncontrollably.

4 to 31 July — The oscillation of the Node. The True Node makes several stations around 0 degrees, oscillating over the zodiacal boundary. A collective direction changes slowly and painfully, preparing the great shift into Aquarius.

5 July — Mars sextile Neptune. Mars’s drive meets Neptune’s inspiration. A good moment for action with vision, for spiritual or creative effort. Energy flows quietly and efficiently toward a higher purpose.

5 July — Mars trine Pluto. Deep, strategic power. You can achieve a great deal with concentrated will and no waste of energy. Ideal for large undertakings that demand endurance. Your strength is discreet but irresistible.

5 July — Mercury semisextile Venus. A soft note of charm in thought and speech. Pleasant conversations, written messages of tenderness, and small negotiations are favored. Communication takes on aesthetic and diplomatic grace.

6 July — Sun square Saturn. Obstacles, delays, a sense of weight or rejection. The day tests your patience and maturity. Don’t take it personally, it is a lesson in limits and responsibility. Persistence without self-flagellation.

7 July — Sun semisquare Node. A subtle friction between your ego and the collective flow. Something pulls you away from the easy choice toward a more evolutionary one. Listen to the restless inner signal.

7 July — Neptune stations retrograde. Neptune stops at 4 degrees of Aries and turns inward. Intuition intensifies, dreams speak. A good period for inner, spiritual seeking and for dispelling illusions.

9 July — Venus semisquare Saturn. Coldness or distance in relationships and values. You may feel rejection or financial tightness. Don’t ask for reassurance now. Give space and time, and the warmth will return.

9 July — Mercury semisquare Mars. Sharp speech, hasty thoughts, possible quarrels. The mind runs faster than prudence. Measure your words before you speak them, and avoid impulsive decisions and confrontations.

9 July — Venus enters Virgo. The tone in relationships and values shifts. From the warmth of Leo we move to the discernment of Virgo. Less drama, more substance. Love becomes an act of care and attention to detail.

10 July — Venus trine Chiron. Healing through relationship and tenderness. A forgiveness, an acceptance, a moment of authentic contact heals old wounds of the heart. You deserve love; let yourself receive it.

10 July — Venus opposite Node. Relationships and values reach a turning point. Something from the past returns to be closed or judged. Balance is asked for between what you want and what you need for your growth.

10 July — Chiron sextile Node. An opportunity for healing that serves your collective path. If you take up your wound, it becomes a bridge to others. Your personal lesson carries a wider meaning and value.

11 July — Sun semisquare Uranus. Restlessness, agitation, a need to break routine. Something unforeseen disturbs your plans. Rather than reacting spasmodically, let yourself improvise freely without blowing everything up.

12 July — Venus semisextile Jupiter. Warmth, optimism, and social ease. Company, generosity, and small joys are favored. A pleasant day to cultivate relationships and appreciate what you already have.

13 July — Sun conjunct Mercury. An inferior conjunction, Mercury in the heart of the Sun. A zero point and a restart of the mental cycle. New ideas are sown, but they mature later. Notice which thought persistently returns; it hides a message.

13 July — Venus square Uranus. The unexpected in relationships and finances. A sudden attraction, an upheaval, a need for freedom. Don’t make final decisions about the heart or the wallet today; the picture is unstable.

13 July — Venus quincunx Neptune. Confusion or idealization in relationships. You see what you want to see, not what is. Discernment is asked for between the dream and reality, especially in romantic and financial matters.

13 July — Venus quincunx Pluto. Tension of passion, jealousy, or control in relationships. Something deep and subterranean rises to the surface. A good moment to see what lies beneath desire, without becoming compulsive.

14 July — Mercury semisquare Venus. A small disagreement between reason and desire. What you think and what you feel do not coincide. Seek the middle road in conversations about relationships, values, and money.

14 July — New Moon at 22 degrees of Cancer. A new lunar cycle in the sphere of home, family, and roots. Sow intentions for the home, care, and emotional security. It comes immediately after the Sun–Mercury conjunction.

15 July — Mercury semisquare Uranus. Nervous, fragmented thought. Information arrives abruptly and unsettles. Original ideas are favored, but not hasty statements. Keep an open mind without drawing premature conclusions.

15 July — Uranus sextile Neptune. The first side of the slow harmonious trine. Inspiration and renewal coexist harmoniously on a generational level. New ideas and spiritual currents mature quietly, shaping the climate of the era.

18 July — Uranus trine Pluto. One of the most constructive aspects of the month. A smooth, deep renewal of structures and systems. Change comes without violence, as evolution. An ideal moment for meaningful transformation with prospect.

19 July — Mars sextile Saturn. Disciplined, efficient action. You combine drive with method and achieve steady results. An excellent day for hard work, for laying foundations, and for completing whatever demands persistence and patience.

20 July — Jupiter trine Neptune. Vision, faith, and spiritual expansion. Creativity, compassion, and the search for meaning are favored. Beware only of excessive idealization; keep your feet on the ground while you dream high.

20 July — Jupiter opposite Pluto. Power struggles, excess, a need for control. Great ambitions collide with deep forces. Avoid leverage and fanaticism. True power is inner, not imposition on others.

21 July — Mars sesquiquadrate Chiron. Action touches a sensitive point. An effort awakens old pain or insecurity about your worth. Continue with awareness, without letting the wound stop you.

21 July — Jupiter sextile Uranus. An opportunity for a pleasant, liberating change. New prospects open suddenly. Say yes to something original, to a collaboration or idea that broadens your horizons with freedom and optimism.

22 July — Mercury semisextile Mars. The mind regains momentum and decisiveness. A good moment to express something you had been thinking, with liveliness but also tact. Thought and action begin to synchronize.

22 July — The Sun enters Leo. The season of Leo opens. Creativity, self-expression, joy, and leadership come to the fore. A good period to shine, to dare, and to live with generosity and passion.

23 July — Sun quincunx Node. An adjustment between your identity and your collective path. A turn requires you to let go of something familiar. Align with the direction that evolves you, not the one that suits your comfort.

23 July — Venus quincunx Saturn. A need to reassess a relationship or commitment. Something asks for realism and maturity. Small readjustments of expectation bring greater stability. Don’t confuse responsibility with coldness.

23 July — Sun square Chiron. Your identity touches an open wound. You feel exposed or inadequate. This sensitivity is a gateway to healing, not a weakness. Treat yourself with the compassion you would give a friend.

24 July — Venus sesquiquadrate Chiron. A relationship or value awakens old pain. Something dear reminds you of a vulnerability. Rather than withdrawing, speak about what you feel. Honesty turns the wound into intimacy.

24 July — Mercury sextile Venus. Communication clears and sweetens, as Mercury turns direct. An ideal day for important, warm conversations, negotiations, and reconnections. Words find the right tone and are heard.

24 July — Mercury stations direct. At 16 degrees of Cancer Mercury stops and moves forward again. The period of review closes, thought clears. From here on, new decisions, signatures, and announcements are favored.

25 July — Neptune sextile Pluto. The third side of the slow trine is completed. A deep, discreet renewal on the collective level. Old structures dissolve gently so that something new can be born. A quiet metamorphosis of the era.

26 July — Mars sesquiquadrate Pluto. Tension, compulsion, a power struggle. Will meets resistance and risks becoming violence or obsession. Channel the force into something productive. Don’t try to control what cannot be controlled.

26 July — Saturn stations retrograde. Saturn stops at 14 degrees of Aries and begins retrograde motion. A period of re-examining structures, responsibilities, and commitments. Whatever you built hastily asks for revision with realism and maturity, without harshness.

27 July — Sun opposite Pluto. Confrontations of power, deep truths, a need for control. Someone or something challenges you to see your shadow. Avoid struggles for dominance. Transformation comes from surrender, not imposition.

27 July — Sun trine Neptune. Inspiration, compassion, spiritual clarity within the day’s tension. Creativity and intuition flow. A good moment to connect with something greater than your ego.

27 July — Venus sesquiquadrate Pluto. Intense desire, jealousy, or financial pressure. Passions rise to the surface. See what you truly deserve without becoming compulsive. The relationship that withstands this tension is real.

27 July — Sun sextile Uranus. A breath of freedom and originality. Sudden opportunities, new acquaintances, and disruptive ideas are favored. Dare something different; today’s change is liberating rather than threatening.

27 July — The Node enters Aquarius. The axis of the Nodes shifts onto Leo and Aquarius. A long collective phase of eighteen months begins, with the theme of balance between individuality and collectivity. A prologue to the August eclipses.

29 July — Sun semisquare Venus. A small tension between want and ought in relationships. Something in your desire does not match the moment. Don’t push for harmony; let things find their balance naturally.

29 July — Venus square Mars. Passion and conflict together. Attraction and friction alternate intensely. In relationships, the tension can become either a quarrel or a flame. Choose consciously where you channel this energy.

29 July — Sun semisquare Mars. Impulsiveness and irritation. Energy is high but easily provoked. There is a risk of hasty moves and confrontations. Do something physical to release it, rather than turning against those around you.

29 July — Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter. Excess in pleasures, spending, or feelings. The appetite for more is strong. Enjoy in moderation; generosity is beautiful, but extravagance leaves regret behind it.

29 July — Sun conjunct Jupiter. The symbolic peak of the month. The annual Sun–Jupiter conjunction in Leo opens a new twelve-year gate of optimism, recognition, and expansion. Sow today something you want to grow.

29 July — Mars sesquiquadrate Jupiter. Excessive drive, risky boldness, a need to do everything at once. Energy is abundant but hard to control. Aim with prudence; don’t squander your strength on many fronts at the same time.

29 July — Full Moon at 6 degrees of Aquarius. A culmination on the individual–collective axis. The Moon opposes the conjunction of Sun and Jupiter in Leo. An awareness arrives of who you are within the whole, with emotional intensity and fullness.

Note: the month also includes nine declination aspects, parallels and contraparallels, which discreetly reinforce the above, especially the relationship of Mars, the Sun, and Jupiter around the culmination of 29 July.

Aries

With Saturn and Neptune retrograde in your sign, July asks for an inner review of structures and dreams, with Mars giving the initial push.

0°–5° · 20–24 March. Neptune parks in your first degrees, turns stationary on 7 July, and blurs the boundaries between the real and the dreamlike, while the sextiles of Uranus and Pluto and the trine of Jupiter quietly support you from behind. Your intuition is sharpened, your inspiration strong, but the risk of delusion is real. In relationships, watch for idealization. At work, creativity flourishes if you don’t get lost in vagueness. It is an excellent period for spiritual, artistic, or therapeutic seeking. Make crucial decisions only after you have grounded the vision in concrete, tangible steps.

5°–10° · 25–29 March. Jupiter from Leo and the Full Moon of the 29th light up this zone with a trine, bringing opportunity, optimism, and boldness. It is one of the most favorable points of the entire month for you. Something you begin or claim now has a real prospect of growing. In career, doors open; in relationships, warmth and generosity prevail; in finances, there is flow. Don’t let hesitation stop you. Dare a bold step toward a goal that inspires you, with the conviction that the wider conditions support you, substantially and in practice, at this moment.

10°–15° · 30 March – 3 April. Saturn sits in this zone all month and turns stationary toward retrograde on 26 July, bringing a test, responsibility, and a sense of weight. You may meet obstacles, delays, or rejections in something important. Don’t take it as failure; it is a lesson in patience, maturity, and limits. At work, method and consistency are asked for; in relationships, realism. This period calls you to re-examine which structures of your life endure and which need revision. Whatever you build now, with endurance and honesty about your limits, will have solid foundations and will last in time.

15°–20° · 4–8 April. The squares of the Sun and Mercury bring friction and tension to thought and relationships, but Venus with a trine and Mars with a sextile offer you momentum, charm, and decisiveness. Misunderstandings or disagreements with someone close may arise, or some obstacle to your plans. Don’t take it personally. You have the tools to overcome the obstacles if you combine action with diplomacy. At work, your energy pays off. In relationships, your warmth bridges differences. Push forward what you want with steadiness, without imposing yourself harshly or hastily on those around you.

20°–25° · 9–14 April. The New Moon of 14 July forms a square to this zone and presses you to move, to change, and to make new decisions. You feel an intense inner need for initiative, perhaps even an impatience. It is a good moment to begin something new, as long as you don’t do it hastily or merely in reaction to some pressure. At work and in relationships, the energy seeks an outlet. Plan your step carefully, define clearly what you want to achieve, and move forward with conscious, targeted drive toward your purpose, rather than with impulsive moves you will regret.

25°–30° · 15–19 April. The Node forms a sextile to this zone and shows you direction within the tension of the last, critical degrees. It is the right moment to clarify which alliances, friendships, and relationships truly move you forward and which keep you stuck. Your collective and evolutionary path asks for a conscious choice. At work, a collaboration may prove valuable. In relationships, you discern who truly supports you. Follow what evolves you and opens a road, even if it is less comfortable and familiar than the known, safe choice that keeps you in the same place.

Taurus

Chiron in your first degrees and Jupiter from Leo light up the first decan with the theme of healing and a new, meaningful step.

0°–5° · 20–24 April. Pluto and Jupiter square this zone while Chiron touches your first degrees: deep pressure together with a great opportunity for healing. It is your most charged but also most fertile point this year, with particular emphasis at the start of the month around the Jupiter–Chiron square of 2 July. An old wound around your worth, security, or body comes to the surface to be healed. Don’t avoid it. In relationships and finances, whatever asks for revision surfaces. Take a new, meaningful step toward self-esteem, without overextending yourself out of fear or insecurity.

5°–10° · 25–29 April. Jupiter and the Full Moon press this zone with a square, testing your values and your sense of security. You may be tempted to overdo spending, eating, or expectations, or to feel that something threatens your stability. Keep moderation and realism, especially in finances. In relationships, avoid excess and possessiveness. This tension, however uncomfortable, shows you precisely where you rest on shaky or outdated foundations. Use the awareness to rebuild something more solid, more pared-down, and truly your own, that doesn’t depend on outside confirmation.

10°–15° · 30 April – 4 May. The Sun and Venus gently support this zone, bringing stability, calm, and sensual pleasure. It is a fruitful period to consolidate something meaningful, to enjoy simple joys, and to tend to what you have already built. At work, your patience and consistency bring tangible results. In relationships, tenderness and a sense of security prevail. Your life now asks for less anxiety and more presence in the here and now. Invest in what gives you durability and genuine satisfaction, and let yourself taste the fruits of your effort without guilt.

15°–20° · 5–9 May. The sextiles of the Sun and Mercury, with Venus present, favor practical pleasures, clear thinking, and small, pleasant successes. Conversations about money and values are favored, as well as decisions that combine reason with feeling. At work, you can settle loose ends and communicate effectively. In relationships, speech becomes tender and constructive. It is a good moment to close a small financial matter or make a practical decision that gives you confidence. Do something tangible and meaningful that brings you satisfaction, drawing on your clarity and aesthetic sense in this period.

20°–25° · 10–14 May. The New Moon of 14 July forms a sextile with this zone, offering calm, fertile support for new beginnings and communication. It is a good moment to sow intentions around your work, daily life, health, and relationships. Without drama and without pressure, you can lay the foundations for something that will gradually flower in the coming weeks. At work, a new idea or collaboration begins favorably. In relationships, communication opens gently. Trust small, steady steps. Your earthy, patient way is especially favored by this fertile lunar support of the month.

25°–30° · 15–20 May. The Node squares your last degrees, bringing tension around attachment and the fear of change. Something you hold tightly, a habit, a relationship, or a sense of security, now prevents you from moving forward. In relationships, you may feel the need to keep control. In finances, an attachment to the familiar limits you. It is the right moment to let go of an old pattern that has become a burden. Your evolution passes through trust in the new and the unknown. Loosen your grip, and you will be surprised by the space and freedom you gain.

Gemini

The Mars–Uranus conjunction in your sign opens the month with sudden energy and new beginnings, with communication clearing after the 24th.

0°–5° · 21–25 May. Uranus together with Mars electrify your first degrees, bringing sudden ideas, reversals, and intense alertness. It is the most charged zone of the month’s opening, culminating in the Mars–Uranus conjunction on 4 July. You feel impatient, inventive, and ready to break every routine. Beware, though, of haste, accidents, and impulsive decisions, especially in travel and communication. At work, a sudden idea or change may prove valuable. Channel this explosive, liberating energy into something creative and original, rather than letting it scatter you or lead you into reckless moves.

5°–10° · 26–30 May. Mars and Jupiter light up this zone with action, opportunities, and impetuous communication. You have energy, courage, optimism, and particular persuasiveness in your speech. It is a good stretch to promote ideas, start important conversations, and claim the space you deserve. At work, your boldness opens roads. In relationships, your liveliness draws people close. Your optimism is contagious and attractive. Make the most of this dynamic period, taking care only not to promise more than you can realistically deliver, so as not to expose yourself later.

10°–15° · 31 May – 4 June. Mars activates this zone while Saturn gives a sextile of structure, composing a particularly productive tension. Your energy and speed finally find discipline and steady direction. It is an excellent period for hard, methodical work that yields tangible, visible results. At work, you combine quick-wittedness with consistency and earn trust. In relationships, you show reliability. You combine drive with method, idea with plan. Lay firm foundations now, take on a responsibility that demands endurance, and you will soon see your effort turn into meaningful, lasting progress and recognition.

15°–20° · 5–9 June. Mars passes through this zone, bringing heightened energy but also sharp, hasty speech. You feel combative, impatient, and willing to speak your mind without filters. Measure your words before you speak them, because misunderstandings, confrontations, and hasty conclusions arise easily. At work, your drive can become aggression if you’re not careful. In relationships, a sharp exchange risks escalating. The same energy that makes you dynamic and quick needs direction. Turn your action and words toward concrete goals and solutions, not toward arguments and confrontations with the people around you.

20°–25° · 10–15 June. Mars and Venus meet in this zone, bringing passion and friction at once, peaking with their square around 29 July. The month’s verdict

When all the conflicting aspects are summed, July 2026 is neither a good nor a bad month. It is a month of transformation experienced inwardly. The friction is almost cancelled out, as the strong harmonious trines counterbalance the dynamic aspects, while the dominant impulse is reversal and renewal, channeled through five retrogrades that turn attention inward. The right stance is not hasty action, but conscious review and long-term planning, with the major moves reserved for after 24 July and the eclipse season of August.
